Two die in accidents

Two cases of fatalities in separate road accidents were reported in the city in the early hours of Tuesday. One victim was a call centre employee returning home while the other is suspected to be a loadman.

According to city traffic police sources, the first accident was reported on Vidyaranyapura Ring Road at around 2.30 a.m. when a call centre employee identified as Jitin Jain, riding his motorcycle, rammed into a tractor. He suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.

In another accident early on Tuesday, a middle-aged man was run over by an unidentified vehicle in Chikpet. Traffic police are probing to ascertain the name of the victim and track down the vehicle.
