Sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) probing into the slew of 10 chain-snatching incidents on Thursday have identified the two chain-snatchers caught on CCTV camera footage, sources confirmed.

On the suspicion that the Irani gang was behind the slew of chain-snatching incidents, a special team of CCB sleuths rushed to Hindalga prison, Belagavi, where other members of the Irani gang have been lodged. Mohammed Irani, arrested for a slew of chain-snatching incidents in the State, has reportedly identified the two men seen in the CCTV camera footage, to be members of the same gang.

Armed with this information, another team of CCB sleuths have visited Bidar and have fanned out to southern Maharashtra, on a manhunt to track down the two suspects.

Police have taken the help of a prisoner to identify the culprits in the CCTV camera footage from the crime spot
