Truck knocks down motorcycle rider in Bengaluru

A 42-year-old accountant was killed on-the-spot when a speeding truck knocked down his motorcycle near Gopalan Arcade, Rajarajeshwari Gate on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Girish G. Kamath, was working in the finance department in JW Marriott. He was on his way home when the speeding truck knocked him off the motorcycle, due to which he sustained severe head injuries. Kamath was rushed to BGS Global Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Byatarayanapura police have seized the truck and are on the look-out for the driver who is absconding.

In a similar incident, an unidentified pedestrian aged around 40, was killed after a speeding cab knocked him down at Bharathi Nagar cross in Yelahanka on Friday.

The Yelahanka traffic police have seized the car and efforts are on to identify the deceased.
