The police are on the lookout for a 38-year-old truck driver who is on the run allegedly with grocery items worth ₹6.09 lakh, which he was supposed to deliver to a firm in Kolkata in Bengal in December last week.

The complainant, Prakash A.S., runs a company that supplies groceries to supermarkets across the country.

When he got an order from a Kolkata-based company, he contacted Ramesh Kumar Nahak, owner of Sri Lakshmi Roadlines who agreed to deliver the goods and got an advance of ₹50,000.

Ramesh left the city with the truck loaded with groceries on December 15. But when he did not contact representatives of the supermarket in Kolkata even after eight days, Prakash called Ramesh who informed that he was in Berhampur in Odisha getting the truck repaired. He assured Prakash that he would reach the destination in two days.

When Prakash did not get any further update, he called Ramesh, but his mobile phone was switched off.

Prakash approached the Electronics City police who have booked Ramesh for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
