Tension prevailed for some time at Rajgopal Nagar police station on Saturday night when three persons, arrested for causing grievous injuries to their employee and later released on bail, allegedly manhandled a senior police officer when they came to submit the bail copy.

The trio — Bairesh, Halesh and Mahesh — are partners of Innoteck Fabitek Varna Koots Pvt. Ltd., Doddanna Industrial Area, Hegganahalli in Rajgopal Nagar. They started abusing the police for filing a case.

Inspector Dinesh Patil B.S. asked them to behave. This led to an argument following which the trio manhandled Patil, they said.

Constables Narasaiah and Jamuna, along with Suresh and Santosh Kumar, rushed to the aid of the officer. The trio was charged with Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty), and arrested.
