Trio arrested for attack on waiter

Upparpet police have arrested three persons who allegedly assaulted a bar waiter at K.G. Circle in Gandhinagar.

Police arrested Irshad, 23, Shamshuddin, 28, and Salman following a complaint by the victim Mohan Shetty. Police booked them for attempt to murder. Police said that the trio are daily wage labourers.

According to a police officer, the alleged incident occurred on Sunday around 11.45 p.m. After consuming alcohol in the bar, they kept their leg on the table. When Mohan asked them to put their leg down, the trio picked up a quarrel. Later, all three were sent out of the bar.

The officer added that when Mohan came out after closing the bar, the trio allegedly attacked him with a knife and stabbed him multiple times. Mohan was shifted to a hospital. Following a complaint, police arrested the trio.

They were produced before a magistrate who remanded them in judicial custody.
