Traffic cop injured

An assistant sub-inspector attached to Kumaraswamy Layout Traffic Police, sustained injuries when a speeding van knocked him down at Konanakunte junction on Kanakpura Road on Thursday.

The injured, Guruswamy, was managing traffic when he noticed the van driving rashly and jumping the signal. The driver knocked down Guruswamy when the latter tried to stop the vehicle for verification.

Passers-by rushed Guruswamy to a near-by private hospital where he is recuperating. Few people managed to note down the registration number of the vehicle and passed in on to the police for further investigations.
