A 38-year-old constable has been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty and misbehaving with his seniors.
Venkatesh, attached to Byatarayanapura traffic police station, was apparently given two notices and two warnings to change his behaviour. According to the police, Venkatesh skipped work and took frequent leaves without informing his seniors.
There are even allegations of him showing up at the station in an inebriated condition and turning abusive when questioned, the police said. The final nail in the coffin was on Thursday, when he went missing. A report was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police S. Girish (West Traffic), who suspended Venkatesh pending inquiry.
