Seven roads in the city are being developed under the Tender SURE’s phase one and two. The work on four roads under phase II and one road under phase I is yet to be taken up. It now appears that the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has put the third phase of the project on hold. The reason? Lack of funds. According to a senior BBMP official, the government allocated Rs. 100 crore for the project and the civic body pitched in with an equal amount. “This has been completely utilised for the first and second phases of the project. We will take up the third phase only after we can mobilise resources,” he said.
