The former Minister B.K. Chandrashekhar has condemned the malpractices observed during campaigns leading up to the elections, and accused workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indulging in such malpractice.

In a press release, Mr. Chandrashekhar, who is contesting from the Basavanagudi constituency on a Congress ticket, alleged that BJP workers had been bribing voters with set-top boxes to gain votes. He also cited two examples where BJP workers Girish and Shivamma were caught with 500 voter ID cards in the past three days.
