The Deputy Commissioner of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) filed a complaint against a suspended clerk last week for allegedly forging an official letter to revoke his suspension.

The fraud came to light when the senior official who received the forged reinstatement letter sent it to the head office for verification.

Deputy Commissioner B.R. Natesh, BBMP head office, in his complaint to the Halasuru Gate police, said the accused, Anand, Second Division Assistant, was suspended a few months ago on the charge of irregularities and a probe was initiated against him.

Anand then allegedly forged the signature of Mr. Natesh on an official letter claiming that he had been reinstated and deputed as SDA at Bommanahalli health office.

Armed with the letter, Anand then went to the office and resumed duty.

The Halasuru Gate police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against him.
