Surprise visit to two police stations

October 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Bengaluru:

Home Minister K.J. George, who drew flak for his recent remark on the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman here, paid a surprise visit to Madiwala police station on Friday.

The visit was unscheduled and even senior officials were taken by surprise as the Home Minister walked into the station. He discussed the gang-rape case with police officials and instructed them to collect evidence diligently to ensure conviction in the case.

The Minister also visited Chikkajala police station, under the jurisdiction of which a 15-year-old girl committed suicide recently after being sexually harassed. He sought details of the case and later directed officials to move swiftly and arrest whosoever was involved in the case.
