Suggestions invited for new education policy

The Department of Public Instruction has invited suggestions and opinions of students, teachers and the public on the new education policy.

The National Policy on Education 1986, amended in 1992, has been the guiding document.

A detailed questionnaire has been published and seeks to collect details in various aspects related to primary and secondary, as well as higher education.

Some of the topics ensure learning outcomes in elementary education, reforming school education examination system, improving State public universities, opportunities for technology-enabled learning, and linking education with employability.

GP meets urged

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has urged State governments to also hold around 2.5 lakh meetings at the gram panchayat level.

The MHRD has also sent questions to be asked at the village, block, district and State-levels.
