Social media team of MP receives threats

A member of the social media team of Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar has filed a complaint with the Ulsoor police alleging that he was threatened by unidentified people to ‘cut down on their activities’.

The complainant told the police that while he was walking from his office to Trinity Circle, on Sunday evening, two unidentified men approached him asking if he worked for the MP’s social media team. When he confirmed that he did, they allegedly asked him ‘to not act smart and keep calm’.

The complainant further said they knew he lived in Whitefield and threatened him saying ‘one of the vehicles in the busy Whitefield area may end up running over him’.

The Ulsoor police are investigating the complaint, but have not registered an FIR.

Mr. Chandrasekhar issued a statement on Tuesday alleging that threats and intimidation were the handiwork of the Congress in the State.
