Six women in different parts of city robbed of gold chains

Motorcycle-borne men robbed six women in different parts of the city in a span of two hours and made away with over 300 grams of gold, on Wednesday.

Rama Balaji (55) was cleaning the front of her house on 19th Main in J.P. Nagar when the duo snatched her gold chain weighing 30 grams. A few minutes later, they targeted Rajamma (70), who was on her way to buy milk from a shop near her house. She lost her 40 gm gold chain.

While the J.P. Nagar police stepped up patrolling, the duo seem to have moved to BTM 2nd Stage and made away with 65-year-old Yashodamma’s 16 gm gold chain.

In another part of the city, Jyothika (42), a resident of Yelahanka, was robbed of her 30 gm gold chain around 6.15 a.m. She was on her morning walk when a duo on a bike snatched her gold chain.

The police suspect the same duo of robbing Vijayalakshmi in Yelahanka New Town around 8 a.m. of her 32 gm gold chain. Another woman, Padmavathy (40), was robbed of her 40 gm gold chain in Peenya.

While patrolling in and around the city has been intensified , the jurisdictional police where are analysing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
