A motorcycle rider, who was caught by the traffic police on the busy Husdon Circle for violating rules, is suspected to have taken away the bike from police custody. The bike had been seized and parked in the designated parking lot on Friday.

Traffic police Sub-inspector Shivarudrappa, attached to Halasuru traffic police, has filed a complaint with his law and order counterparts, and asked them to track down the biker and take legal action.

Mr. Shivarudrappa, along with his team, was deputed at Hudson Circle. They noticed a motorist riding his bike on a one-way. He was stopped and asked to show the vehicle documents. The motorists said he had none.

Upon checking, police found that he was a repeat offender. They slapped a notice for riding on a one-way, not having insurance and also for a defective silencer .

They seized the bike and parked it in the designated parking lot in Hudson Church premises, along with other seized vehicles.

They told the motorists to pay the fine in court and take the bike.

When Mr. Shivarudrappa went to the parking lot after duty hours, he could not see the bike. He filed a complaint.

"We suspect that the biker, who had the key with him, stole the bike," a police officer said .

This is is the second incident of a seized motorcycle being stolen. Earlier this month, a seized motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot of Indiranagar traffic police station.
