Search for missing mason continues

Was washed away during heavy rain on Saturday night

Search teams are yet to find Shantha Kumar, the mason who was swept away by gushing water in a storm water drain (SWD) at Kurubarahalli on Saturday night.

According to sources, Mayor G. Padmavathi visited Shanamangala, Byramangala and Parasana Palaya lakes on Tuesday morning to take stock of the situation.

Over 300 personnel from the BBMP, State Disaster Response Force, National Disaster Response Force and Fire and Emergency Services are searching a 32-km stretch from Jnanabharathi, Bangalore University campus to Byramangala lake.

“We will resume the search at 8 a.m on Wednesday,” said a Fire and Emergency Services officer.
