Schools around Yelahanka declare holiday

June 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Bengaluru:

As a precautionary measure, over a dozen schools in and around Yelahanka have declared a holiday on Thursday, after a local activist called for a bandh in the locality stating that the area lacked basic infrastructural facilities.

Education Department officials, however, said all government schools would remain open.

They said if necessary, police protection would be given to schools that are functioning.

Show-cause notice

Officials also said that a show-cause notice would be served to schools that had declared holiday without informing the department.
