Sandalwood thief caught

The High Grounds police on Tuesday nabbed a 23-year-old youth and recovered Rs. 20 lakh worth sandalwood along with a car and a motorcycle.

The accused had chopped a sandalwood tree from Cunningham Road and was on the run since then. The High Grounds police managed to track him down with the help of the car registration number.

The accused has been identified as Imdadulla, a habitual sandalwood thief and resident of Sarai Palya. The accused had also confessed that he was involved in chopping down two sandalwood trees from IISc. campus.
