Saalumarada Thimakka hospitalised

Environmentalist Saalumarada Thimmakka was admitted to a private hospital in the city on Tuesday for treatment of respiratory tract infection and age-related complications.

According to a doctor attending on her at Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar, the environmentalist was shifted to Bangalore after her condition did not improve. The doctor said she would need to stay in hospital for the next three days. She has been suffering from asthma for the past several years.

She has planted several trees and participated in afforestation programmes and is a recipient of numerous awards.
