Raid on rose garden yields 174 kg of marijuana

The vigilance squad of the Excise Department raided a rose garden in Kammasandra village near Banaswadi and seized 170 kg of marijuana plants that were being grown there. According to the police, the banned weed was being grown amidst roses and guava trees.

The team was led by Inspector Asha V. and was acting on a tip-off.

“The garden belongs to M. Narayanappa, who is absconding,” said the police, who later raided his house where they seized four kg of marijuana, which he was planning to sell .

The total value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around ₹11 lakh.
