Pulse Polio: 86.4 p.c. coverage in State

The Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme on Sunday covered 85.64 per cent of children aged below five across 135 wards under BBMP. Outside these wards, 87.57 per cent coverage was achieved.

The Health Department on Sunday said in a release that Pulse Polio vaccine was administered to 64,94,562 children as against the target of 75,16,494, achieving a State average of 86.4 per cent. While 95.4 per cent of the targeted children were administered polio drops in Udupi district, only 76.02 per cent of the targeted children were administered the drops in Kalaburgi district.
