The harrowing experience of II Pre-University (PU) students this exam season continues even as the supplementary exam begins on Thursday. Many students, who had not yet got their admission tickets for the examination, queued up outside the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) here on Wednesday.

Not just them, even college officials were seen trying to get the results of some students rectified after they were published wrongly even after re-evaluation, fearing that they might get to write the supplementary exam even after the results were out.

The DPUE finally announced the results of the last batch of re-evaluation of 345 answer scripts. A DPUE press release said among the 345 answer scripts, there was no change in marks in the case of 315, while 19 answer scripts saw a change in marks. As many as 11 answer scripts saw a change as they were unvalued. In all, a total of 36,513 answer scripts were given for re-evaluation.

However, the results brought further misery to some students. One such student had got 35 marks in mathematics, which was reduced to 10 after re-evaluation.

“I had not registered for supplementary exam as I was confident of getting more marks as I have secured more than 70 marks in all other subjects. Now, I do not know what to do,” the student said.

While students who had not got their admission tickets were anxious, the DPUE said those students who have not received their admission tickets, have failed in the re-evaluation, or have not paid fee the supplementary exam fee can directly approach their college principal or go to the exam hall with the old hall ticket, an identity proof, a photograph and the challan of the exam fee paid by them. As many as 2.04 lakh students will be writing the exam that concludes on July 6.

For those who are participating in the Common Entrance Test counselling process, the Karnataka Examinations Authority has already allotted 4,913 spot ranks, while more will be assigned according to their revised marks, the release said.
