Prohibitory orders clamped in HC vicinity on Monday

City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi has clamped prohibitory orders within a one kilometre radius of the Karnataka High Court for the pronouncement of the High Court judgement on May

11 on the appeals filed by the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, and three persons against a Special Court order convicting them in a disproportionate assets case.

The order has been issued following Intelligence reports that hundreds of people would throng the city to hear the judgment, which could pose a law-and-order issue.

Formation of groups of more than five members, conducting processions or public meetings, and carrying banners or playing music has been banned from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, he said .
