A pregnant woman and her mother were found murdered at their house in Doddaballapura town on Saturday night. Their bodies were discovered by Chandrakala’s father, Narayanappa, when he returned from work.
Chandrakala, 22, who had married a weaver, Chandrashekhar, a year ago, lived a few yards away from her parents’ house, and would visit them often. The police suspect Chandrashekhar’s involvement as he has been missing since Saturday. “The women seem to have been strangulated, but we are waiting for the postmortem report for details,” said a police officer.
The officer added that the murderer could be someone known to the family as there was no forced entry, and none of the family’s valuables have been reported missing.
