Power situation to improve in March: Chief Minister

October 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:04 am IST - Bengaluru:

The power crisis in the State is expected to improve by next March as around 2,300 MW of power generation capacity will be added to the State grid by then, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday.

“We have not been able to fulfil the demand of consumers of the State. We were ahead of all others at one point in hydel power generation, but because of inconsistent rainfall we cannot depend on hydel power anymore,” he said. He was speaking at the Foundation Day celebrations of Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd.
