The Parappana Agrahara police on Saturday arrested two bike lifters and recovered 25 motorcycles valued at ₹15 lakh from them.

The accused Chinnapandakutti, 27, and his associate Prabhakaran, 31, hail from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu. According to the police, they would come to Bengaluru with the aim of stealing motorcycles parked outside houses.

“They would break the lock and then bypass the ignition to start the motorcycle,” said the police, adding that they operated mainly in Parappana Agrahara, Hulimavu, Bommanahalli, Mico Layout, Electronics City, HSR Layout and Bellandur police station limits.

They were arrested by a patrol unit who found their movements suspicious.
