The police have intensified investigation against financier Kapali Mohan, whose gambling den RG Recreation Club was raided by the CCB sleuths on Saturday to uncover gambling activities worth several crores. Kapali Mohan has been absconding ever since and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab him.

He is also a financier who runs firm Balaji Finance. The police said they have received complaints that he was charging exorbitant rates of interest (up to 20%) and also making debtors sign blank papers and later wrote amounts more than what he had given as loans. The CCB raided his residence in Sadashivanagar and office of Balaji Finance in PG Halli and seized several documents, duly signed blank promisory notes, signed blank cheques and several property documents.

The police have registered a case against him under Karnataka Money Lenders Act 1961 and Karnataka Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act 2004 at Vyalikawal Police station.
