Police constable killed in road accident

A 24-year-old constable attached to Jayanagar police station was killed after a BMTC bus hit his motorcycle near Banashankari bus station on Thursday night. The deceased, Siddappa, hails from Vijayapura. He had joined the police in 2016.

According to the police, he was on the night shift and had gone to Yediyur on work. He was returning to the police station when his two-wheeler was hit by a bus around 11.45 p.m. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.

The Banashankari traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the driver of the bus. He has been arrested.
