Permanent solution to garbage problem in 100 days: Mayor

Mayor M. Gautam Kumar, who visited quarry landfills where the city’s waste is being dumped on Saturday, said he would find a permanent solution to the garbage problem in 100 days.

He visited Bellahalli and Mittaganahalli quarries. He said the city has to process its waste and not dump it in landfills. He said separate tenders for collection and transportation of dry and wet waste is under way. Once the tenders are issued, segregation of waste at source would be strictly enforced, he said.
