Getta Ride, a cyclothon to urge Bangaloreans to adopt healthier and eco-friendly option for transport, was flagged off here on Sunday.

Sports personality Arjun Devaiah flagged off the event at the Kanteerava Stadium in the presence of film actor Harshika Poonacha, urban farming pioneer K. Vishwanath and others.

Participants cycled through the main roads to reach Vidhana Soudha and Hudson Circle to return to the stadium where students of the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath performed a dance programme highlighting the importance of cycling.

Many representatives from educational institutions and non-governmental organisations participated in the event.
