One dead, one injured in motorcycle accident

A 23-year-old motorcycle rider was killed and his pillion was injured when the motorcycle, in which they were riding, lost control and rammed into a parapet wall near Cantonment railway station on Tuesday morning.

The deceased, Arun, who was a student from a private college, was going to Benson Town with his friend Shashidhar, an M.tech student.

Arun lost control of the bike and rammed into a wall of a park and sustained severe head injuries. Passers-by rushed the two to a near-by hospital where the doctors declared Arun as brought dead.

Shashidhar was said to be out of danger.

The High Grounds police have registered a case and are investigating.
