Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao pulled up officers in-charge of Banashankari police station for not keeping the premises in a good condition. On Tuesday, Mr. Rao made a surprise visit during which he found the restrooms in a shoddy shape.

He also inspected the locker rooms and files dumped in dusty cartons. He asked if the allowance provided for maintaining the stations was being properly utilised.

Mr. Rao ordered that all officers keep stations clean. Seized vehicles dumped in station backyards should be maintained well, he said. The commissioner said he would make more surprise visits in the days to come.
