Students of a Bengaluru nursing college have alleged that some of their peers submitted fake class twelve marks cards to secure a seat. They have brought this to the attention of the Governor and the Chief Minister in a letter alleging that the college has also admitted students to nursing courses even though they have a background in commerce and are, hence, not eligible to enroll in the Bachelor of Sciences Nursing programme and other courses.
The same college has been under the scanner after the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) filed a police complaint claiming that the management was involved in several fraudulent activities. The matter is currently being probed by the Criminal Investigation Department.
Students have also expressed unhappiness over the quality of education and have asked to be transferred to other colleges.
The college management has denied their allegations.
RGUHS Vice Chancellor S. Sachidananda said that all the marks card were verified during the time of admissions. "We will, however once, again conduct an inquiry into the matter if students have complained."
