No trains, flights to Chennai; buses running empty

All trains between Bengaluru and Chennai were cancelled on Wednesday and the situation is likely to remain the same on Thursday, as stations in Chennai were flooded.

Mangaluru - Chennai Central Mail cancelled

Train No.12602 Mangaluru Central – Chennai Central Mail scheduled to leave Mangaluru Central at 13.25 hrs. on 03.12.2015 (Thursday) has been cancelled.

There are seven daily trains and 11 trains between the City Railway station and Chennai Central station. “The situation is bad and today all our trains were cancelled. The Bengaluru-Bangarpet Express had to be cancelled as the pairing train from Arakkonam did not arrive on time. On Thursday as well, it is doubtful if we can run trains,” said Divisional Railway Manager (Bengaluru) Sanjiv Agarwal.

In the meantime, South Western Railways has been posting details of cancellation/delays on their Twitter accounts @SWRRLY and @SWRBengaluru. Meanwhile, people who planned to visit Chennai are staying away till the situation improves.

Return buses full The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, which operates 42 services to Chennai, had to cancel 16 schedules on Wednesday and club others because of very low passenger traffic. On the other hand, the buses coming from Chennai are packed. Additional buses are being arranged to handle the rush. “We are monitoring the situation. As of now, the roads are open and connectivity has not been affected. We are arranging around 55 buses from Chennai to Bengaluru to handle the extra rush,” said KSRTC Managing Director Rajender Kumar Kataria.

Flight services from Bengaluru to Chennai continue to remain suspended.

Train No.12027/12028 Chennai – Bengaluru City – Chennai Shatabdi Express of 03.12.2015

Train No.12007/12008 Chennai – Mysore – Chennai Shatabdi Express of 03.12.2015

Train No.22625/22626 Chennai - Bangalore – Chennai Double Decker Express of 03.12.2015

Train No.12639/12640 Chennai – Bengaluru City – Chennai Express of 03.12.2015

Train No.12619/12610 Chennai – Bengaluru City – Chennai Express of 03.12.2015

Partial Cancellation:

Train No.12608 Bangalore – Chennai Lalbagh Express will run only up to Katpadi.

Train No.12607 Chennai – Bangalore Express will start from Katpadi instead of Chennai (The train is cancelled between Chennai and Katpadi).

Diverson:

Following trains are diverted via Melpakkam, renigunta and Gudur:-

Train No.12510 Guwahati – Bengaluru City Express scheduled to arrive at Chennai on 03.12.2015

Train No. 12296 Patna – Bengaluru City Express scheduled to arrive at Chennai on 03.12.2015

Train No. 12577 Darbhanga – Bengaluru City Express scheduled to arrive at Chennai on 03.12.2015

TRAINS CANCELLED/DIVERTED ON DEC. 4 and 5, 2015 (Update from SWR at 4 p.m.)

Trains fully cancelled:

1. Train No.12551 Yesvantpur – Kamakhya Express of 05.12.2015.

2. Train No.12295 Bengaluru City – Patna Sanghamitra Express of 04.12.2015 and 05.12.2015.

3. Train No.12578 Mysore – Darbhanga Express of 05.12.2015

4. Train No.12509 Bangalore City – Guwahati Express of 03.12.2015 & 04.12.2015.

Trains partially cancelled:

1. Train No.17312 Vasco-de-Gama – Chennai Express leaving Vasco-de-Gama on 03.12.2015 is partially cancelled between Yesvantpur and Chennai.

2. Train No.17311 Chennai – Vasco-da-Gama Express leaving Chennai on 04.12.2015 is partially cancelled between Chennai and Yesvantpur. The train will originate from Yesvantpur.

Reschedule of train:

Train No.11013 Mumbai LTT – Coimbatore Express scheduled to leave LTT at 22.35 hrs on 02.12.2015 is rescheduled to leave at 04.00 hrs on 03.12.2015 due to late running of its pairing train.
