Namma Metro set a new record on Monday as the first full day of commercial operations on the entire Green Line led to 3,07,543 lakh passengers commuting across Phase I.

The previous record was 2.10 lakh, recorded in December last year, which brought in revenue of ₹39.6 lakh for BMRCL in a single day.

The Green Line, which used to ferry around 60,000 passengers every day before Monday, carried over 1.13 lakh passengers between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.

BMRCL is targeting a daily average of 5 lakh commuters in the next few months.

"Trains towards Mysuru Road were jam-packed even around 9:30 p.m. A lot of people had reached Kempegowda Station on the Green Line before boarding the Purple Line," said Anita N., a regular commuter on the Purple Line.
