Muggers strike again; four robbed in different parts of Bengaluru

After a brief period of disappearance, muggers struck again robbing four persons in different parts of Bengaluru since Monday.

In the first incident, Narasimhamurthy, a Bengaluru-based accountant was robbed of his gold valuables worth over Rs. 1.5 lakh in Cottonpet on Monday.

According to the police, a man in motorcycle followed Mr. Narasimhamurthy’s car when he was on his way home to Sirsi circle, threatened him at knife-point and robbed him of three gold rings, a gold chain and Rs. 14,500 cash on the busy road.

Narasimhamurthy tried to raise an alarm for help, but the mugger managed to speed away before passers-by came to his rescue. Cottonpet police swung into action and are trying to identify the mugger with the help of CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner (West), Pratap Reddy said that chain snatching has also been reported in Vijay Nagar, Chandra Layout and Banashankari area on Tuesday. Mr. Reddy has directed City Police to step-up vigil to look out for the suspect.
