Moving BMTC bus catches fire; narrow escape for passengers

In the second incident in as many days, a moving Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus caught fire in the city on Thursday, prompting BMTC to institute an inquiry.

No passenger was injured in the accident that occurred on Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Laggere at around 11.15 a.m.

An alert driver, Balaram, saved the lives of passengers. He reportedly observed smoke emanating from the engine and alerted the conductor and other passengers to alight from the bus.
