Motorcyclist dies in R.T. Nagar

A youth died on the spot after he lost control of his two-wheeler and rammed into an electric pole on Dinnur Main Road in the intervening hours of Monday and Tuesday.

After having dinner, Afraz Ahmed (23), who works in a furniture store, and Mahesh, his friend, were headed toward their house at K.G. Halli around midnight, said the R.T. Nagar Traffic Police. However, Afraz – who is suspected to have been speeding on the road – lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the footpath and electric pole. Wearing no helmet, Afraz died on the spot. The pillion, Mahesh, suffered minor injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital.
