February 20, 2012 09:16 am | Updated 09:16 am IST - Bangalore:

Six-year-old Zameer, who went missing from the State Government run “Shishu Mandir” on Hosur Road February 6, has returned to the child care centre, Rajendra Prasad, Superintendent of Government Home for Boys, has said.

“Zameer was not missing. The boy was playing outside the ‘Shishu Mandir' and his father had taken him along without informing those concerned at the ‘Shishu Mandir',” Mr. Prasad said. After a review by the Child Welfare Committee, Zameer was subsequently sent home.

Superintendent of the child care centre Haleema had lodged a “missing complaint” with the Wilson Garden police.

Zameer's father, who came to know about the complaint, brought his son back, Mr. Prasad added.
