The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) broke one more ridership record on Monday. The ridership on both the lines touched 4.28 lakh, crossing the previous record of 4.25 lakh set on August 13.

More than 2.30 lakh people travelled on the Purple Line and 1.97 lakh on the Green Line. Interestingly, the previous record was also set on a Monday.

On account of a general holiday on Wednesday, the BMRCL has decided to run peak hour trains with a frequency of 5 minutes instead of 3.5 minutes. “Standby trains will be made available in the event of a rush,”said a spokesperson of the BMRCL.
