The police suspect that the fined rider followed the constable home after duty to steal from him.

Mustafa Mulla, 32, with High Grounds traffic police, was on Cobra duty on September 18. Around 8.30 p.m., he was instructed to attend to a tree fall near Gandhi Bhavan bus stop.

He then returned to his home in police quarters in Ashok Nagar around 2.30 a.m. While walking in to his house with his helmet, digital FTVR and walkie-talkie, he heard a noise outside and rushed towards his bike to see an unidentified man running away shouting at him, saying his name was Ashok Gajjere, and that the cop had slapped him a fine and he wanted to show him who he was.

Mr. Mulla then found his raincoat, electronic tab and a mask missing. He filed a complaint of theft with the Ashok Nagar police who have launched a manhunt for the accused.
