The K.P. Agrahara police have arrested a 32-year-old mobile shop owner for allegedly accessing a link of the recently released Kannada film Pailwaan and charging customers ₹10 for each download.

The accused, Praveen, a resident of Netajinagar, was arrested based on a complaint filed by the film’s producer. He has been booked on the charge of piracy.

“He was able to access the link from a website. We have seized his computer and other devices,” said a senior police officer.

Last week, CCB officials had arrested a youth for posting a link to the pirated version of the film on a social media platform.
