Man commits suicide

A 24-year-old man allegedly hanged himself at his residence in HRBR Layout on Friday night.

The police identified the deceased as Rajesh B.K. alias Raju, a driver by profession. He was living in a quarter provided by the building owner in HRBR Layout.

Police said that the deceased was an alcoholic and would often quarrel with his wife. Due to frequent fights, his wife had left for her hometown Darjeeling, the police said.

The incident came to light at around 12.30 a.m. when Rajesh’s wife tried to establish contact with him . She then called the building owner, who went to check on him and found him hanging. He immediately alerted the police who rushed to the spot and recovered Rajesh’s body. A case of unnatural death has been registered in Banaswadi police station.
