The Parappana Agrahara police have arrested a 24-year-old youth for stealing laptops and mobile phones from paying guest (PG) accommodations. Two laptops were recovered from Gopalakrishna, who is from Chennai. His associate is absconding.

“We received several complaints from techies and students residing in PGs in Electronics City, Parappana Agrahara and surrounding areas that laptops and mobile phones were stolen from their rooms. We decided to keep a watch on the PGs in the area.

On Thursday, the beat policemen found two youths carrying two laptop bags going on a bike with Tamil Nadu registration. The police followed the bike and nabbed Gopalakrishna, who was riding the bike, while the pillion rider fled.”

During the interrogation, Gopalakrishna confessed that they sold the stolen goods in Tamil Nadu.

The police said several cases had been solved with the arrest.
