The Vivek Nagar police arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly misbehaving with two women and later assaulting one of them when she objected to his behaviour on Ejipura main road on Saturday.

The police said the accused, Johnson, a construction worker, followed the women when they were on their way to an ATM. He confronted them and misbehaved with one of them when they tried walking away. The victims raised an alarm, prompting a woman passing by to come to their rescue. Enraged by this, Johnson assaulted one of the victims with a stone. Passers-by alerted the police, who arrested the accused. The victim, who suffered injuries, was taken to a hospital.
