Man arrested for misusing private photographs

The cyber crime police arrested a youth working in a salon for allegedly misusing personal photographs of his friend and posting them online. The accused Kiran, 23, is a resident of Chikkabanaswadi.

According to the police, Kiran and the woman, who lodged the complaint, were colleagues at a salon in Banaswadi for two years. “The two had become close and took some photographs together. The complainant sent those photos to Kiran on WhatsApp. A week ago, the woman ended the relationship over differences with him,” said the police.

Kiran, who was hoping to get back with her, reached out to one of her relatives and sent the photographs on WhatsApp, following which the woman lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police.

The police, in a public statement, has advised people to be aware of that photographs shared either on social media or privately on social messenger applications can be misused. “It is better that people do not share any of their private photographs with anyone,” a senior police official said.
