The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has initiated disciplinary action against its personnel stationed at the Kempegowda International Airport for the recent security lapse that led to seven passengers in two different groups entering the domestic security area and proceeding to the boarding gate without being frisked.

The incident happened on Monday at 9 p.m., and came to light after Indigo airline staff noticed four women passengers at the boarding gate without security stamps on their boarding passes. They were later brought to the domestic security hold area to stamp the boarding pass and allowed to board the Pune-bound flight. A second group, of two men and a woman, managed to board the flight to Nagpur, after airline staff failed to notice their boarding passes were not stamped.

The office of the Additional Director-General (airport sector) of CISF sought a reply on the incidents from the DIG/CASO ASG Bengaluru. The letter states that seven passengers approached screening point, kept their belongings for screening, and came to the frisking booth for security check. The booth was not manned at that time and the passengers entered the security area without being frisked.
