KEA extends date for payment of fee

After scores of students and parents raised a hue and cry over the lack of time to pay the fee for the seats they have chosen, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) relented and extended the last date by a day.

A KEA release sent on Monday afternoon said the last date for students who had made ‘choice-1’ (I am satisfied with the allotted seat and am willing to report to the allotted college, therefore I should not be considered for further allotment of seats in any subsequent rounds for any college/discipline) could pay the fees by 5.30 p.m. on July 1.

Students had to put up with slow servers from Monday morning till late afternoon and it was only at about 3 p.m. that the issue was rectified. Already tensed over the payment link being uploaded late on Saturday, by which time banks had closed, they got even more anxious as they had only a few hours to pay on Monday, which was originally the last date.
