Lauding the achievements made by Bengaluru in the global software arena, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in the city on Tuesday, said India’s software would lead the global hardware in the future.
At an Indo-German business summit hosted by India’s IT association, Nasscom, Mr. Modi said, “While in Bengaluru, I must add that it is the software of India that will move the hardware across the world.” He also said, “The Indian talent will master the technology, and market of India will motivate manufacturing.”
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Bengaluru’s contribution to the growth of German business was huge. Around 1,600 German companies operate in India and 200 of them were based in the city, she said.
“India is Asia’s Silicon Valley with a huge talent in IT. We would like to partner with India for skill development,” she said.
On business partnership with India, she said, “India competence is in IT. We have to merge the knowhow of the strengths of the two countries to benefit each other.”
